At the Command Line
Initial Setup
Based on a problem reported in /var/log/messages. (See resources below.)
sudo mkdir -p /etc/Wireless/RT2860STA sudo touch /etc/Wireless/RT2860STA/RT2860STA.dat sudo service network-manager restart
Status
ifconfig iwconfig iwlist wlan0 scan lspci | grep Network sudo lshw -C network
Configure
sudo ifconfig wlan0 up
The following didn't work. Why?

At the GUI
In the upper right menu <uparror downarrow menu> and selected zdomeWLAN. This worked. Followed through.
