Installation on Ubuntu 10.04.4 (Lucid)
- Setup sources.list
sudo sh -c 'echo "deb http://packages.ros.org/ros/ubuntu lucid main" > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ros-latest.list'
- Set up keys
wget http://packages.ros.org/ros.key -O - | sudo apt-key add -
- Installation
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install ros-electric-desktop-full
- Environment setup
echo "source /opt/ros/electric/setup.bash" >> ~/.bashrc . ~/.bashrc
Configure
- Create ROS Workspace
mkdir ~/ros_workspace
- Create init script
- Put the following in ~/ros_workspace/setup.sh
#!/bin/sh source /opt/ros/electric/setup.bash export ROS_ROOT=/opt/ros/electric/ros export PATH=$ROS_ROOT/bin:$PATH export PYTHONPATH=$ROS_ROOT/core/roslib/src:$PYTHONPATH exsource ~/ros_work_workspace/setup.shport ROS_PACKAGE_PATH=~/ros_workspace:/opt/ros/electric/stacks:$ROS_PACKAGE_PATH
- Put the following in ~/.bashrc
source ~/ros_workspace/setup.sh
