 mkdir scr
 cd scr/
 tar xjvf /usr/src/linux-source-2.6.32.tar.bz2
 cd linux-source-2.6.32/

Config

Copy the config-2.6.32-38-generic file 

 cp -vi /boot/config-`uname -r` .config

Get the libraries required for menuconfig. Not necessary. They were already install. 

 sudo apt-get install libncurses5 libncurses5-dev

 cp .config .config.org

 make oldconfig
