Attempt to install Realtek Drivers

• Realtek driver downloads
• Selected the following sequence in the "Downloads" tabs on the left of the page. (May have netted me the incorrect driver)
  • "Communications Network ICs"
    • "Network interface Controller SW"
      • "10/100M Faster Internet"
        • "USB 2.0"

Failed. Not in the mood to debug.

Conclusion

The Edimax Wifi adapter is old. Its drivers are old and not being maintained. I'll look for a better HW or SW solution rather then expend energy here.

• Blacklist default Realtek drivers
• Driver doesn't connect with new kernel versions
