The FIRST Tech Challenge software requires that the minimal version used to run the program is 9.0. This includes the apps and software development tools.

Robot Controller and Driver Station App - Rules <RS05> or <RS06> may require initial installation of the software, or updates throughout the season. Teams receiving the Driver Hub or Control Hub for the first time should install the most recent version of the software.

If using Windows 10 or greater, to install the most current version the software, please visit the following link: https://docs.revrobotics.com/rev-hardware-client/

• Powered up - wait for green led
• Plug USB-A to USB-C to laptop

Windows Laptop

On my FTCTrainingBot 01 (OrRAS01-RC)

• Connect to internet
• Run REV Hardware Client app
• Press "Check for Updates" button
  • Control Hub Operation System 1.1.2 => 1.1.3
  • Robot Controler App 7.1 => 8.2
  • Hub Firmware 1.8.2 (up-to-date)
  • August xx, 2023 release

REV Hardware Client

Individual Updates

• Select the device to update
• Software version status displays
• Select "Update" button under "Control Hub Operating System"
  • takes a while to initiate (watch circle in dialogue)
  • Control Hub eventually reboots
  • Green dialogue box displaces "Operating System update complete"
• Select "Update" button under "Robot Control App"
  • above process repeats
  • "Firmware" was up-to-date

Backup Files

• Select "Backup and REstore" tab
• Select "Backup Files" button
• Green "Config files and code backed up" dialog displayed and disappears

• Powered up - wait for green led
• Plug USB-A to USB-C to laptop
